"A Beginning", Inc.

Since 1979, Alpha has provided housing and supportive services to over 1,485 women, teens and infants in our Residential Program. Our Community Outreach has distributed maternity, infant and children items as well as offering counseling, all free to over 10,000 needy families in our community.

To provide housing and supportive services to homeless pregnant women and teens, new mothers with infants, and families experiencing crisis pregnancies

1982 - My daughter is 17 and will graduate from high school this year. Alpha was our beginning. It has not been easy but there is little in life that is worthwhile that is easy. THANKS to Alpha, 17 years ago, I became better prepared to overcome the challenges I have faced as a parent. Thank you.

1989 - I honestly don't know what I would have done back then. Alpha made a big difference for me. I was lost and Alpha helped show me the way out. Tykeia is 10. She is great. She will never have to deal with the hardships I did. I am her warrior. I am her mother.

1994 - The value "Treating people the way you would want to be treated," made an impact on my life then and today. I have learned that if I am upbeat and kind, that people are more likely to be this way to me, and this makes life happier and more pleasant. Alpha helped me be more confident and a better person.

1996 - Alpha was the family I did not have. Alpha is still there for me. My daughter and I are doing really well. I am almost finished with school. The people that are in my life today are all part of what Alpha brought to my life back then. We are going to make it, or maybe I should say, we are making it and that is not going to change.

1998 - When I first came to Alpha I was 16, pregnant and alone. I had no idea what was in store for me. Alpha helped me get my education back on track and before I left, I had my diploma. They also taught me allot about caring for my daughter. Because of Alpha, I was able to find out about being a mom, And I decided I wasn't  ready for motherhood just yet. I placed my daughter. I know it was the right decision for her and me. All that I learned at Alpha is instilled in my heart forever. I would like to say thanks for being there and leading me in the right direction.

Alpha, "A beginning", Inc. is a private non-profit corporation chartered by the State of Florida, and designated as a publicly supported organization as in section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code, so you may be able to take a tax deduction for your contribution. Alpha's Federal Employer Identification Number is 59-1991525.

Alpha is a non-denominational group dedicated to preserving a reverence for life, and believing that each life created is unique. We are, also, a pro-person group, dedicated to befriending and helping each women who comes to us, no matter what her final decision regarding her present pregnancy might be. We are, also, committed to the welfare of the infant she is carrying, both before and after it iss born. Our philosophy is summed up in our name, an acronym representing five main principles

ACCEPTANCE is at the heart of every healthy relationship. We offer women and families who come to us friendship based on acceptance.

EACH LIFE created is unique, and we are dedicated to preserving a reverence for the lives of both the mother and her unborn child.

We believe that quality of life is determined by PURPOSE. The time a women spends with us should be used to redirect her life, and to set realistic goals.

HOPE is powerful, and it keeps people from despair. God offers hope and with god's live and the opportunities at Alpha, no problem is too great to be solved.

ACCOMPLISHMENT is necessary for growth and future success. We will empower our clients to accomplish their goals.
